We invite applications for a PhD position at the Amsterdam School for Regional, Transnational and European Studies (ARTES), tenable from 1 September 2021.
The PhD project should have an interregional, transnational or comparative design, and should primarily make use of digital methods. The geographical focus areas of ARTES are Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and Eurasia, in past and present.
Deadline for applications: 15 April 2021
ARTES offers also the possibility of pursuing a (non-funded) ‘external’ PhD within its Research School. To apply, potential students must make contact with a supervisor within the School and secure her/his support, and must submit a fully elaborated PhD research proposal. Although not provided a stipend, external students are considered, for all extents and purposes, full doctoral candidates and have access to UvA facilities and resources. They are also given a limited amount of research/travel funding.
For more information on applying for an external PhD position, please contact the School’s administrator, Paul Koopman (E: P.J.Koopman@uva.nl).
