Wiebke Kolbe, professor for history at Lund University in Sweden, is visiting the University of Amsterdam as a guest researcher from September to December 2019. She is hosted by Christian Noack and the Amsterdam School for Regional, Transnational and European Studies (ARTES). Christian Noack and Wiebke Kolbe both work in the international HERA project „The European spa as transnational space and social metaphor“. Wiebkes stay at ARTES enables a close co-operation between the two who use the time to work collaboratively on conceptual questions as well as to discuss their findings. Wiebke Kolbe also collaborates with the interdisciplinary European travel cultures and mobilities research group hosted at ARTES and discusses her work with them. During her stay at the University of Amsterdam, she investigates mainly the history of European seaside resorts.
