As an art historian specialised in comparative literature and Italian (film) Studies I work interdisciplinarily, transnationally, and intermedially, investigating (thus far) particular cultures in Europe, with a focus on storytelling, film in research/research in film, and questions of literary, artistic, and cinematographic representation in relation to national or local socio-political, linguistic, and cultural boundaries. My personal experiences and academic interests, combined with the reality of our ‘superdiverse’ urban contexts and the so-called ‘migrant crisis’, have led me to focus in my research and teaching projects predominantly on (representations of) migrant communities.
