This thematic cluster consists of research projects that problematize a variety of social justice-related issues in global and local contexts.

Social justice serves as a lens to grasp mechanisms that produce different forms of social conflict and inequality, as well as the ways in which different actors contest these. The projects critically address, for example, political, spatial, racial or gender dimensions of inequality from a variety disciplinary perspectives and methodologies, ranging from the arts and cultural studies to social science and legal studies. In general terms, our research shares a focus on regional, transnational and local practices aimed at societal change.
